about Megan Freeman

With her background in dance and Master’s in Exercise Science, Megan couples principles of fluidity and the breath with an important understanding of anatomy and alignment.

Her passion is to provide students a safe haven to heal, grow, and flourish in their health journey.

Megan was first exposed to yoga growing up with Denise Austin workout videos but didn’t experience yoga’s full potential until college. As a dancer and dance instructor, yoga was often used in warm-ups and even in parts of dance choreography. After using yoga as a form of physical therapy to recuperate from a few dance injuries, as well as a healthy way to deal with stress and anxiety, Megan decided to become certified in yoga.

She received both her 200-teacher certification (RYT-200) and 500-advanced teacher certification (RYT-500) from New Day Yoga in Kennesaw, GA, as well as her 90-hour prenatal teacher certification (RPYT) from Etowah Valley Yoga in Cartersville, GA.

Megan also holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science & Sports Management with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Kennesaw State University. Her thesis addressed the benefits of yoga on exercise consistency, mental health, and self-esteem.

Since receiving her certifications, Megan has earned her E-RYT 200 and is close to receiving her E-RYT 500. She regularly teaches beginner, vinyasa flow, hatha, yin, restorative, prenatal/postpartum, and power yoga classes, as well as private lessons and workshops. Among the most requested private lesson and workshop themes are: Ayurveda 101, Introduction to Arm Balances, Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga, Introduction to Alignment, The Limbic System and Yoga, and Cultivating a Home Meditation and Yoga Practice.

She especially loves working with students who are new to yoga and assisting them into a deeper practice through an understanding of body mechanics as well as spiritual practices. With her background in dance, Megan couples principles of fluidity and the breath with an important understanding of anatomy and alignment. Her passion is to provide students a safe haven to heal, grow, and flourish in their health journey.
